Job Description

Due to one of our experienced receptionists reducing her hours to further her career in nursing, we are looking for a full time receptionist to cover a very busy and demanding role in a veterinary practice reception.

The role:

Reception is the hub of our practice and the first and last thing a client will see. We are looking for someone who is 100% client focused and able to give the very best service whilst prioritising and managing an ever changing workload. Daily tasks involve

  • Meeting and greeting clients
  • Dealing with customer queries and complaints
  • Answering multiple incoming call lines
  • Scheduling new and follow up consultations
  • Set up and manage client files
  • Taking payments & daily cashing up
  • General reception duties inc filing, faxing, photocopying and franking
  • Sales (practice health plan, food, toys & treats)
  • Liaise with vets, nurses and other practice staff
  • Ordering stock
  • General cleaning/tidying of reception area

Experience:

Although this job is set within a veterinary practice and a love of animals is important, we are looking for candidates with a strong customer care background and ideally 2 years or more experience in a customer facing role. An upbeat and can do attitude is essential. The role can be both physically and emotionally challenging but is a great opportunity for someone who loves to interact with the public and enjoys the satisfaction of knowing they've really made a difference to people's lives.
