The Animal Referral Centre is looking for an additional Emergency/Critical Care (ECC) veterinarian to join our practice. We are looking for a clinician to provide the highest standards of care and function as part of a cohesive, caring multidisciplinary team. The position will best suit a motivated veterinarian who is passionate about emergency and critical care, and looking for a career in this challenging and rewarding area of clinical practice. The Animal Referral Centre is a busy, growing, private small animal referral practice established in 2016. It is independently owned and operated and has specialists in small animal surgery and internal medicine. In addition, we are fortunate to have Auckland’s only veterinary emergency and critical care specialist in our team. As part of this role you will have the opportunity to grow your knowledge and skills through daily hospital rounds, interaction with our specialist team and monthly in house CPD training sessions. Continuing education in the field of veterinary emergency and critical care is supported and encouraged. The ECC vets roster consists of rotating night and weekend shifts, and 1-2 ECC veterinarians are rostered on per shift. ARC specialists provide 24/7 support to our ECC team, including for surgical cases. The caseload is varied and interesting, consisting of a mixture of primary accession and referral from practices in Auckland and beyond. The clinic has a full in-house lab suite, multiparameter patient monitors, digital radiography, ultrasound, endoscopy, mechanical ventilation, C-arm image intensification, on-site CT, and dedicated cat and dog receptions, consulting rooms and wards. Nurses are rostered on 24 hours a day to assist you in patient care. Our ideal candidate would have attained membership of the ANZCVS in emergency and critical care, but individuals who are committed to working towards this are welcome to apply. A minimum of 2 years experience in small animal practice, or completion of a rotating internship is necessary. The clinic is located on Auckand’s North Shore. Auckland is New Zealand's largest city and home to 1.5 million people. In Auckland, fantastic beaches, hiking trails and national parks are only half an hour away. The climate is sunny, there is a background rhythm of Polynesian culture and a passion for outstanding food, wine and shopping. There is a competitive remuneration package offered, and relocation assistance is also available. To apply for this role please send a copy of your CV and covering letter to Dr Trudi McAlees (email@example.com) For further information about the role or an informal chat please contact Trudi McAlees on +64 9 2815815.
