Registered Veterinary Nurse - Wildlife Location: Fishcross, Alloa The Scottish SPCA, Scotland’s animal welfare charity, requires a Registered Veterinary Nurse for employment at its National Wildlife Centre based in Fishcross, Alloa. This is an exciting opportunity to join the 2013 Scottish Charity of the Year and make a real difference to the lives of the thousands of abused, abandoned and injured animals rescued by the Scottish SPCA each year. Reporting to the Chief Veterinary Officer, the Veterinary Nurse will be responsible for providing supportive care of wildlife receiving treatment within the Veterinary Department, including the monitoring of wildlife undergoing surgical procedures. They will assist the Veterinary Surgeon in the diagnosis, treatment and care of sick or injured wildlife. This may extend to the care of non-wildlife species where required. Candidates should have excellent customer care and communication skills, a keen interest in animal welfare, ideally previous experience working with wildlife and experience of working with the general public. Candidates must also have a full driving licence. Hours of work are 37.5 hours per week, working 10 days out of 14 on a rota basis to include evenings and weekends.
